‘A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough ass days’ - 30 Days of Truth, Day 13
This is a no brainer: Three Doors Down <3 I first heard 3DD when I was about 16 and in the middle of the whole depression thing.
Here Without You was the song that drew me in, then it was stuff like Loser, When I’m Gone, Changes, When You’re Young and Duck and Run (in the vid) that really spoke to the fragile little teenage me.
I’ve seen 3DD live a couple of times in the last year at the Roundhouse and Hammersmith Apollo, and singing along and letting out all those years of hurt brings tears to my eyes every time, waaaah :)
It’s easy to forget what it feels like to be young, but listening to 3DD reminds me of how lucky I was to have their insightful music in my life at a time when I really needed some understanding :)

My new Alice in Wonderland inspired pocket watch tattoo with a blue ribbon ‘chain’, and the phrase “This Too Shall Pass” written in the Tim Burton’s Alice font.
This is something I’ve wanted done for the last two years to remind me that time heals all wounds, and what better place to have this emblazoned on my skin than in the very place I’ve had scars heal after I got through my depression.
“This Too Shall Pass” is a mantra I have used to get through many hard times, and a very sad event recently made me feel the need to get this done more than ever.
I’m absolutely in love with this tattoo, I hope you like it too :) <3
30 Days of truth, Day 12
I’m feeling a little guilty for not writing much lately, so I’m just catching up on a few in one go - binge blogging if you like.
This is a silly one, but I never get compliments on my eye lashes. I only picked this one because I have naturally really long eye lashes, and no one ever seems to notice, and that makes me sad face inside. I’ve gone through dozens of different mascaras trying to find the one to draw attention to my eyes, but nope, nada. Maybe it’s how I’m doing my make-up, or maybe no one notices because my lashes aren’t particularly thick, or maybe it’s just that no one cares. But it would be nice if someone, anyone, would notice them once in a while and say “Hey, you - your eye lashes are like a mile long, nice one”. Anyway, silly blog over.
Gimme all your mascara tips! PLEASE!! x
(Edit - Sod’s Law, a few days after I posted this a friend at college commented on my long eyelashes! :) )

Aww, isn’t this a nice one. I’m trying to think of a way to write this that doesn’t sound like I’m blowing my own trumpet though. People who spend time around me at work or most recently at college mostly say how quickly I pick up new things and basically that I’m really clever and good at stuff. Which I always have been, but that still feels like I’m boasting. The number one word teachers have always used to describe me is ‘conscientious’, which is really just a nice way of saying I obsess over little details and worry about doing a bad job. Pretty much sums me up!
Isn’t it nice when someone pays you a compliment :) what do people compliment you on? x
